2020

From Berlin to Rovinj

In June 2020, as soon as the inner European boarders re-opend after the first lockdown due to the covid pandemic, I felt the urge to cross the alps with a van driving from Berlin to Istria to see how the world looked like after so many months in lockdown. The world was still quiet, few people dared to travel yet. The lack of tourists on the route through Germany, Austria, Italy and Slovenia was a blessing, the landscape felt wilder and more original. But the strongest impression was the one of silence, no longer dominating only the nights but being with me as a constant companion, interrupted only by the sounds of nature.
